WHY LEARN TAJWEED WITH QURANIC VALUES

A Tajweed Learning Method Rooted in Madinah

Our Tajweed program combines qualified Quran teachers from Madinah with structured theory, direct recitation correction, visual Tajweed resources, and personalized lesson records that students can keep and review throughout their learning journey.

01

Teachers With Quran Study & Teaching Experience in Al-Masjid an-Nabawi

Our Quran teachers are from Madinah and their educational backgrounds include learning and teaching in Quran circles at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi. They bring that experience into personalized online Tajweed instruction.

02

Tajweed Instruction Based on the Recitation Tradition of Madinah

Students learn Tajweed through a structured approach shaped by the Quranic learning methods and recitation tradition studied by our teachers in Madinah, with a strong focus on correct pronunciation, application, and teacher-guided correction.

03

Color-Coded Tajweed Mushaf in Your Learning Kit

Students can receive a color-coded Tajweed Mushaf as part of their learning materials. The visual colors help make recurring Tajweed rules easier to identify, understand, and apply during Quran recitation.

04

Personalized Tajweed Lesson Record

Lessons, rules, corrections, and important notes can be recorded in the student’s dedicated online learning document so they remain available as a personal reference for revision after class.

05

Visual Marking of Tajweed Rules During Recitation

During practical Tajweed lessons, the teacher can mark relevant letters, words, and recurring Tajweed rules directly on the Quran text using digital annotation tools, then explain how each rule should be performed in recitation.

06

Live One-to-One Recitation Correction

Students recite directly to the teacher and receive focused correction of Makharij, Sifaat, Madd, Ghunnah, Tafkhim, Tarqiq, stopping, and other Tajweed applications according to their current level.

07

Personalized Tajweed Learning Plan

The program begins with a recitation assessment. Instead of giving every student the same lesson sequence, the teacher identifies the student’s strengths and recurring mistakes and builds a suitable learning plan around them.

08

Qualified Huffaz & Native Arabic-Speaking Teachers

Our Quran teachers are Huffaz and native Arabic speakers from Madinah, helping students hear and practice accurate Arabic pronunciation while studying Tajweed theory and applying it during live recitation.

OUR TAJWEED TEACHING METHOD

Learn the Rule → See It → Apply It → Receive Correction → Review It

The goal is not simply to memorize Tajweed terminology. Students understand the rule, see it identified in the Quran, apply it during recitation, receive correction from the teacher, and keep lesson notes for continued revision.

Understand Identify Apply Correct Review

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Online Tajweed Classes – Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about learning Tajweed online, live recitation correction, class schedules, learning materials, kids and adults, theoretical and practical Tajweed, and our free 3-day trial.

Can a complete beginner join the online Tajweed classes?

Yes. Students can begin according to their current Quran reading level. During the initial assessment, the teacher listens to the student’s recitation and identifies the most suitable starting point. If a student still needs to build basic Arabic reading skills first, the teacher may recommend beginning with Noorani Qaida foundations before progressing further in Tajweed.

What is the difference between theoretical and practical Tajweed?

Theoretical Tajweed focuses on understanding the rules, including Makharij, Sifaat, Noon Sakinah and Tanween, Madd, Tafkhim and Tarqiq, and Waqf and Ibtida. Practical Tajweed focuses on applying these rules while actually reciting the Quran to the teacher and receiving direct correction.

Do I need to know Arabic before learning Tajweed?

You do not need to speak Arabic fluently. However, Tajweed application requires the ability to read Quranic Arabic at an appropriate level. If your reading foundation still needs development, your teacher can identify this during the assessment and recommend the correct learning path before advancing to more detailed Tajweed study.

Are the Tajweed classes live or recorded?

The classes are live. Tajweed requires the teacher to hear the student’s actual recitation, identify pronunciation and application mistakes, explain the correction, and listen again as the student repeats the verse or word correctly. Recorded videos alone cannot provide this personalized live correction.

Are the online Tajweed classes taught with audio and video?

Classes are conducted live through Google Meet using online audio and video communication. This allows the student and teacher to interact directly while the teacher explains Tajweed rules, listens to the student’s recitation, shares learning materials, and provides correction during the lesson.

Are the Tajweed lessons one-to-one?

Teaching is focused individually on each student and their own recitation, mistakes, and learning plan. In some cases, a shared halaqah link may be used with consent and another student may join shortly before the previous lesson finishes. Male and female class links are kept separate, and a private link can also be arranged when appropriate.

Can children join the online Tajweed classes?

Yes. Children from age 5 can join according to their reading ability and attention level. Lessons are adapted to the child’s current level, and a parent or guardian should remain nearby during the child’s online class in accordance with Quranic Values class policies.

Do you teach adults who already read the Quran but make Tajweed mistakes?

Yes. The program is suitable for adults who can already read the Quran but want to correct pronunciation, recurring recitation errors, Makharij, Sifaat, Madd, Ghunnah, Tafkhim, Tarqiq, stopping, and other Tajweed applications. The teacher focuses on the student’s actual weaknesses rather than restarting material they already know.

Are female Tajweed teachers available?

Yes. Female teachers from Madinah are available for female students and children according to scheduling and teacher availability. Male and female teaching arrangements are kept separate.

How long is each Tajweed class?

Lessons are task-based rather than designed around filling a fixed amount of time. A session may last up to approximately 20 minutes, but it can finish earlier when the assigned recitation, correction, or lesson objective has been completed successfully.

Can I choose a Tajweed class time that suits my time zone?

We provide flexible scheduling for students in different countries and time zones. Regular classes are held five days per week, Sunday through Thursday, and the class time is arranged according to student needs and teacher availability.

Do you provide a Tajweed Quran as a PDF or a printed book?

At present, students receive a digital PDF version of the color-coded Tajweed Mushaf as part of their learning materials. This makes it easy to use during online lessons and personal review. A physical printed Tajweed Mushaf is planned for the future, with shipping intended for students in different countries, but printed copies are not currently included in the program.

How does the teacher show Tajweed mistakes during an online lesson?

During practical Tajweed lessons, the teacher can use digital annotation tools to mark letters, words, and relevant Tajweed rules on the Quran text. The teacher then explains the rule, demonstrates how it should be performed, and listens while the student applies the correction during recitation.

Will I receive Tajweed notes and materials after the lesson?

Yes. Students receive learning materials as part of their student learning kit. Tajweed lessons, important rules, corrections, and teacher notes can also be recorded in the student’s dedicated online Google document so the material remains available for revision and future reference.

How long does it take to improve my Tajweed?

There is no single fixed period for every student. Progress depends on the student’s starting level, recurring pronunciation mistakes, familiarity with Tajweed rules, consistency in attending lessons, and practice outside class. The initial assessment helps the teacher identify priorities and build a realistic learning plan.

What happens during the free 3-day Tajweed trial?

The trial begins with basic information and a recitation assessment to identify the student’s current level, pronunciation, goals, and schedule. A personalized learning plan is then prepared, and the student begins studying according to that plan before deciding whether to continue with a paid subscription.

Who teaches the online Tajweed classes?

Tajweed students learn with Quran teachers from Madinah who are Huffaz and native Arabic speakers. Their educational backgrounds include Quran study and teaching experience in Madinah, including experience connected with Quran circles at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi. Quranic Values is an independent online academy and does not claim official endorsement by Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
